Nigerian Army SSC Commission Officer Recruitment 2024
The Nigerian Army is inviting suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for the positions of a Short Service Combatant (SSC) Commission Officers. Application for Nigerian Army recruitment starts on Monday 5th August 2024 and will end on 18th September, 2024.
This Nigerian Army job opportunity is is open to both civilians and serving military personnel.
At the end of the training, they will be commissioned as SSC Commission officers who would serve in the different Combat Arms (Infantry and Armour Corps) and Combat Support Arms (Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps) of the Nigerian Army.
Nigerian Army SSC Requirements
- Nationality: All application must be a Nigerian citizen by birth and must provide a valid certificate of origin from the state.
- Age. Applicants must be between the ages of 23 and 27 by January 2025. He must provide a valid birth certificate to validate their age.
- Fitness: Applicants must be in sound health, mentally, and physically and meet the health standard set by the Nigerian Army. Also, candidate must not have any tattoo on inscription on their body.
- Good Character. Applicants must me of good character and must provide a recommendation or attentation of good character from either a Local Government Chairman/Secretary, a senior military officer or a Commissioner of Police. Also, applicants must submit an Attestation Letter from their previous school. All candidates must not be a member of any secret cult or fraternity.
- Height. Applicants must be at least 1.68m in height (for male) and 1.65m (for female).
- Criminal Record: Applicants must be an ex-convict
- Education: Applicants should hold a first degree (not less than Second Class Lower Division) or HND (not less than Lower Credit) in the arts, sciences, or humanities from an accredited institutions.
- NYSC Participation. All applicants, (except those currently serving in the Armed Forces) must provide NYSC discharge certificate or certificate of exemption.
Requirement for Service Personnel
- Identity: All applicants for the Nigerian Army SSC Recruitment who are service personnel must present original military ID card and letters of recommendations by their Commanding officers/Commanders.
- Proof of Study Permit: They must also provide official letter of sponsorship to study while in service and proof that they have served at least 5 years in the Armed Forces.
Conditions of Service
- Service Duration: Duration of SSC is 15 years. Ten years will be on the active list (initial bonding period), renewable for five years. Except for conversion to regular combatant commission, no extension is granted after 15 years.
- Rank: Successful officer cadets will receive the rank of second lieutenant and this seniority rank will start immediately and the completion of military training.
- Conversion: SSC officers can request convert to Regular Combatant Commission but this conversion is not autamic as it will depend if there is vacancy as well as meeting other eligibility criteria.
- Terms: Before being commissioned into the Nigerian Army, graduating officer cadets must accept the SSC Commission’s terms and conditions.
- Tenure of Service: Civilians who become commissioned officers will count their start service from the date of commencement of cadet training, while military applicants count from the date of enlistment.
